The impact of foreign direct investment on socio-economic development in Arab countries(oil and non-oil)
Empirical study for the period (2000-2016)
Abstract
this study aimed To identify the impact of FDI on socio-economic development in Arab countries (oil and non-oil), and based on GDP per capita for measuring the economic development, and the life expectancy index at birth for measuring the social development as stated in (Hanna Spinova & Kiyyaa Ougate, 2017) study, and based on Panel Data, and two models: the first (the dependent variable is: GDP per capita), the second (the dependent variable is: life expectancy index at birth), and based on two tests: Hausman test, Wald test, and was used Fixed Effect Model in the first model and Random Effect Model in the second model, and the results are: there is a significant positive effect at (1%) of FDI on social development in Arab non-oil countries and lesser extent in Arab oil countries, while the FDI does not affect on economic development in Arab countries
