Sustainable Supply Chain Management Practices – Cisco Systems Case Study
Abstract
Sustainability issues have known an increasing global momentum, which has put various ressures on economic companies in order to achieve a balance between their economic, environmental and social performance, and given that supply chain operations constitute a critical component in the production of goods and services, the study aimed to explore sustainable supply chain management practices, To achieve this objective, a case study of Cisco Systems was used to explore the extent to which the company has succeeded in integrating sustainability practices into supply chain management, as the study concluded that sustainable practices include all stages of the product life cycle, from design, supply, manufacture, distribution and reverse supply, the company has been able to develop an effective set of sustainable practices and progress in implementing sustainability programs and projects indicates close cooperation between the company and its supply chain partners
