The crisis of the rent-oriented régime of accumulation in Algeria: a reading in terms of regulation

Abstract

This paper intends to provide a specification, based on the regulation approach, of the structural crisis of the rent-oriented regime at work in Algeria. The analysis will enable us to diagnose the sources and identify the main demonstrations of this crisis in the macroeconomic level and the level of the behavior of the actors of the accumulation. The paper concludes that the crisis of the economic regim has a macroeconomic dimension that is embodied by impeding the
conversion of saving into investment and an institutional dimension through the dominance of rentseeking behaviors among the actors of the accumulation process
