effect of the fluctuations of crude oil price on energy use in the Algerian econometric study
case of Algeria in period1991-2018
Abstract
Abstract: The study aims to measuring the effect of the fluctuations of crude oil price on energy use in the Algerian economy for the period 1991-2018 using the ARDL model, To achieve this endeavor We relied on annual data For a set of the following economic indicators : indicator energy use indicator as the dependent variable, As for the independent variables to it has been harnessing each of the price of Algerian crude oil, Primary energy consumption, gross domestic production and industrial production index, Based on the estimated results of the model we came up with that the price of crude oil affect the energy use in an inverse way where whenever crude oil prices have risen, this has decreased energy use in Algeria, there is also an inverse relationship between primary energy consumption and industrial production index with energy use Except for the GDP variable, it was associated with a direct correlation with energy use The results showed that all the variables were morale except for the industrial production index, where the model showed a long-term relationship between the variables
