The role of the organizational environment in supporting knowledge sharing for hospitals staff

case study of the public Hospital, Mohamed Boudiaf- Ouargla

Abstract

: This study aims to  highlight the role of the organizational environment in supporting the knowledge sharing for the hospital staff by conducting a case study at the public hospital Mohamed Boudiaf in Ouargla, and to clarify  the most powerful and stronger dimensions of the organizational environment in supporting the knowledge sharing.

To achieve the study objectives we used a descriptive and analytical approach in the theoretical section and a questionnaire to collect primary information from a sample of (47) individuals (doctors, nurses, and administrators) in the practical section.

The study showed the following main results: The organizational environment is available at an average degree, and there is a practice of knowledge sharing among the hospital staff,  A positive impact of the relationship between the organizational environment and the knowledge sharing, and the stepwise regression analysis showed that both organizational structure and leadership support, have the most influence on the knowledge sharing. On the other hand, this effect did not appear in relation to the two other dimensions organizational culture and information technology.

Finally, the study conclusion is the need of devoting and enhancing the practices of knowledge sharing by knowledge exchange between individuals and encouraging the use of technologies
