The “Social Economy” Bet the Next Stage of Sustainable Development in the “Global Economy”

Abstract

The study discussed the topic of "social economy" as a bet for sustainable development in the "global economy", especially in light of the many crises that have occurred, the latest of which is the Covid-19 pandemic. The importance of the topic stems from the importance demonstrated by scientific research and international experiences of the social dimension in improving the performance of economic policies, and achieving equitable sustainable development. The study used the descriptive analytical method; One of the most important results was that the "social economy" is achieved through the interaction of: the state and its institutions, the private sector with its investment capabilities, and civil society with strong support and oversight. Secondly, it is very difficult to find a single indicator to measure the "social economy" and assess its impact. Finally, the study found a strong and positive relationship between the inclusion of the social dimension and the quality of performance of economic development policies
