The reality of the electricity price tariff for the residential sector in Algeria

Abstract

The study aims to shed light on the knowledge of determining the electricity price in Algeria for the residential sector by the Electricity and Gas Control Committee, the pricing set according to the implementing decrees at the beginning of January 2016 according to the application of justice between customers and among other tasks of the Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission at the meeting held on December 29, 2015 a decision to amend tariffs Electricity and gas after it was specified May 18, 2005, with the aim of gradually reaching the coverage the real costs, and this is after the issuance of Law No. 02-01, which introduced them to competition and opened the way for private dealers to investment . We divided the study into three parts, the first part includes the reality of theelectricity sector in Algeria, the second includes the Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission, its tasks and role, and the last part includes determining the electricity price tariff for the family sector despite the opening of the market to competition, as it does not reflect the real costs of production as a result of state support for the sector
