Funding sources of football sports clubs and their role in improving performance
Abstract
The studyaims to know the sources of funding football sports clubs and theirrole in improvingtheir performance, and to achievethis goal, weconducted a fieldstudyat the level of football sports clubs in the state of Ouargla - Algeria. The data is collected, by targeting a sample of thirty (32) managers of sports clubs, (chairman, general secretary and financial manager), which were randomly selected out of a community of 36 managers, using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The sports clubs’ dependence on state subsidies for their financing, then on the annual subscriptions of members, the procedoies of organizing sports tournaments through team subscriptions; Sports clubs did not pay attention to sports marketing, which is an important source of financing for international sports clubs; The lack of interest in sports investment as a source of financing for the club, and it did not receive much sports sponsorship. In the end, the study made some recommendations, which are: Sports clubs should think of other sources of funding in addition to going to sports marketing, which is one of the possible sources.
