Reform of Algerian System Banking within Current World Developments; which role of Bank of Algeria?
Abstract
The Algerian banking system suffers from many defaults that have negative effects on its performance. Because of the important role in the dynamism of the economy especially in the developing countries like Algeria where there is a lack of financial markets, it becomes an urgently need for a reform of the Algerian banking system particularly in the fields of electronic banking, the use of Basel norms, and the concentration of financing foreign trade at the expense of financing productive investment programs … etc.
This research paper has concluded that these reforms are the duties of the Central Bank of Algeria (Bank of Algeria) because of its responsibility on the control of banks as well as its task of puting and implementing the monetary policy that suit the national economy.
