The role of the iron and steel industry in achieving the requirements of economic development in Algeria

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to bring out the progress of the development plan of the industrial sector in Algeria, and that by the influence of multiple industrial policies pursued in the domain of steel industry sector on the national economy.
The representation of the different strategies of development and macroeconomic indexes helped us to clarify the importance of the steel sector in Algeria and the direct and indirect influences on other sectors, as well as the value added and GDP.
The study also concluded that the Algerian economy must be not depend only on hydrocarbons to achieve sustainable industrial development.
