Appraisal environment performance in the oil institution

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate environmental performance in oil firms through the study of Algiers oil complex called "Basin Barkawi " -case study-. Using a set of indicators that reflect the ecological status of the complex, under this title "evaluation of environmental performance in the oil institutions, case study: oil complex "Basin Barkawi". We adopted in this study the descriptive and analytical approach in the theoretical aspect, and used the statistical analytical descriptive method in the practical side. The complex relies to evaluate his environmental performance on some indicators like (ratio of greenhouse gas emissions, resource and energy consumption, waste storage index, index of environmental costs, environmental fees pointer and environmental investments Index) during the period 2009 to 2013.
The study concluded that the oil complex "Basin Barkawi" interested in environmental aspect through positive results for the majority of environmental performance indicators used in the complex and interest in protecting the environment and environmental dimension integration in strategic objectives has inadvertently environmental challenges in economic activity.
