A Multidimensional analysis of women entrepreneurship in Algeria

Although the number of women entrepreneurs is steadily increasing in the world, women-led enterprises in Algeria remain very weak. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the factors that encourage or hinder the entrepreneurial activities of women in Algeria. To do so, a questionnaire was distributed to 102 women entrepreneurs. According to the results, women entrepreneurs in Algeria seem to be more motivated by personal characteristics (the search for self-fulfillment, autonomy and independence). On the other hand, it is clearly stated that economic, regulatory and socio-cultural factors have little influence on women entrepreneurial activities.
