Organizational Culture and Its Impact on Knowledge Management in University Libraries
Abstract
The present study investigates how organizational culture influences knowledge management within university libraries and highlights its critical function in improving knowledge management practices. These practices encompass the collection, organization, transfer, and utilization of information to foster learning and academic research. A supportive organizational culture that encourages innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing can enhance the performance of university libraries, thereby reinforcing their role in facilitating scientific research and developing academic competencies. In contrast, a culture marked by rigidity and a lack of openness may obstruct knowledge management efforts, adversely impacting the library's productivity and its capacity as a key information resource. Furthermore, this study explores the interplay between organizational culture and knowledge management as contemporary administrative concepts that institutions strive to implement. University libraries aim to leverage the experiences of other organizations to effectively integrate organizational culture and knowledge management practices
