The Impact of the Security Crisis on the Overall Mortality Rates in Algeria (1990-2000)

Abstract
This research aims to highlight the study of deaths, analyze them, and determine their geographical location during a significant and sensitive period that Algeria went through, known as the security crisis (1990 - 2000). This period witnessed the most severe types of violence and disturbances resulting from an ideological political conflict between the Algerian government and armed Islamic groups following the annulment of the parliamentary election results in December 1991, which led to an escalation of violence from both sides, resulting in approximately 200,000 deaths according to official sources. This massive number of deaths undoubtedly led to a noticeable increase in various mortality rates during that decade
