Chronic Pain in Cancer Patients A Field Study on a Sample cancer patients at the cancer control center in Ouargla

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the level of chronic pain among cancer patients, involving a sample of 39 individuals (20 females and 19 males) attending the Cancer Control Center at Mohamed Boudiaf Hospital in Ouargla for the year 2024. The study explored differences related to gender, educational level, and duration of illness. Data were collected using the Chronic Pain Scale developed by Haddan Ibtissam (2015). A descriptive methodology was employed, and data analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24. The findings revealed:

-An average level of chronic pain among patients with cancer.

-Significant statistical differences in chronic pain among cancer patients attributed to gender, with females experiencing higher levels.

-Significant statistical differences in chronic pain among cancer patients related to educational level, favoring those with primary education.

-No significant statistical differences in chronic pain among cancer patients related to the duration of illness
