Abstract

This study aims to assess the quality of social care provided in institutions for auditory and/or visual impairments according to the pupils’ parents in the city of Ouargla. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire has been used through four dimensions: teachers’ competencies for pupils with disabilities, the school learning environment and the classroom, educational activities and materials, and teaching strategies and methods. The questionnaire has been distributed to a sample of 34 parents, and the descriptive approach is chosen for that it fits this case study.

This study has found that these institutions live up to the required level according to the parents' opinions, and there are some deficiencies in providing modern educational aids that are compatible with the requirements of this group
