Educational and psychological assessment of the gifted child using the portfolio
Abstract
Assessment of educational activities is one of the important issues facing teachers in teaching gifted children. In this process of assessment, the successful teacher needs to use many methods of evaluation, such as achievement tests, aptitude tests, etc., in order to keep track of the development of the gifted child’s abilities.
The current study aims to direct the attention of teachers of gifted students towards using a method in educational psychological evaluation based on preparing a portfolio that contains all the child’s performances, whether related to his learning activities that he accomplishes in the classroom or tasks assigned to him, or also the results of psychological and educational tests obtained with the aim of gaining a knowledge of his/her personal traits and tracking the growth of his abilities and academic achievement
