Abstract

The philosophy of freedom in each philosopher is the specific beginning of all philosophical positions, and is also important for its direct contact with human issues, in this summary we deal with the position of St. Augustine and Muhammad Iqbal and despite the temporal divergence, but the basis of addressing the problem of freedom in them is a sense of crisis in human consciousness, especially religious awareness manifested In the refraction of the self in front of contemporary realities of the two experiences so that the return of religious consciousness to nature has become a great responsibility.

Both Augustine and Muhammad Iqbal, when they wanted to achieve this result, ie, to re-establish religious consciousness, whether in Christianity or Islam, focused together on the value that freedom gives as the key to preparing mankind as the practical means of building a strong society. It is led by a man who is free from all values that stand against true freedom guided by religion
