Abstract

Infant mortality rates in Algeria have witnessed a significant reduction since the independence, after being about 161.7 % in 1965, it reached 20.9 % in 2016 , although the crude birth rate raised again in 2005 , and life expectancy at birth also has raised to competitive rates by reaching the age of 78 years in 2016 after being about 51years for both genders in 1965. In this research paper we will attept to follow the phases of infant mortality development in Algeria since the independence untill today through some indicators such as infant mortality rate and life expectancy at birth
