Evaluating the Competitive Performance of the State of Algeria in the Light of the Arab Economies Competitiveness Report During the Period (2017-2020)

Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the competitive performance of the State of Algeria, by
diagnosing the indicators of the Arab Economies Competitiveness Report issued by the Arab
Monetary Fund during the period from 2017-2020. Among the results, the most important of which
is that the State of Algeria recorded a poor performance in all sub-indicators of the General
Competitiveness Index. In the light of these results, the State of Algeria must make more efforts by
developing programs and policies in order to develop the competitive capabilities of the country
and work on developing the financial sector and finding effective institutions that provide a
supportive infrastructure.
