The application of quality management system standards in Algerian Universities A field Study in several Algerian Universities

Abstract

In order to improve the quality of their outputs and satisfy the society needs,
the higher education institutions are mainly seeking to increase their efficiency and
quality by adoption of the quality management concept and application of its standards
on the administrative and educational procedures. In this work, we aim to evaluate the
quality management system applied in higher education institutions in Algeria. This
study is based on the official legislative texts applied by quality assurance cells in
universities on the involved stuff from administrators and professors.
The main conclusions are that the quality of procedures has the main impact on the
overall quality with a rate of 42.01% based on the response of the teaching crew. Then,
the quality of inputs with a rate of 29.42%, and the quality of outputs with 28.57%.
