From the social context to the meaning A reading of Sania Salih’s Forward to Mohamed Almaghout’s collection of poems

Abstract

This article aims to present a reading of Saniya Salih’s ‘ Forward to the poems of Mohammed ELMAGHOUT’. It is a reading that takes into consideration the social context that surrounded the production of these poems and how it helped her in understanding and interpreting them. What are the main topics of this Forward? How can we understand a text from its social context? To what extent this context enables us to discover the aesthetic sides of a literary text? These are the main questions we will try to approach in this research.
