Abstract

It goes without saying that teaching Arabic as a foreign language is asked to take advantages from the international experiences at the field of teaching languages; may be because of the gap that exists between Arabic and other international languages namely: English and French. The European experience, one of the leading experiences in the field of teaching languages, depends on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and its guidelines. Moreover, among the most important standards this framework is based on, there are, the action-based approach which is a part of the openness stage at the history of teaching foreign languages field.This paper, provides a comprehensive overview of how to apply and use it in the field of teaching Arabic as a foreign language. We deal with this approach in two parts: the first is designed to deal with applied linguistics and the field of teaching foreign languages, the second part is about the action- based approach, its standards and principals.
