CONTRIBUTION A L’ETUDE DE LA COMPOSITION CHIMIQUE DES HUILES ESSENTIELLES DE LA PLANTE TEUCRIUM POLIUM SSP. GEYRII (LAMIACEAE)

Abstract

In order to contribute to the well-known local medicinal plant valorization for their therapeutic virtues, we were interested in the survey of the plant Teucrium polium geyrii that belongs to the family of the Lamiaceae, wellknown in traditional medicine.The present work describes the survey of the chemical composition of the essential oils of this plant obtained by hydrodistillation. The yield obtained was 0.1 %. The analysis of the chemical composition of these essential oils by GCFID and by GC/MS, permitted to identify 94 compounds, that represents 91.03 % of the extract. The major compounds are: dl-Limonene (11.18%), d-Cadinene (10.02%), Trans b -caryophyllene (9.15%).
