PROTECTION DES ROUTES CONTRE L’ENSABLEMENT : CAS DU SUD ALGERIEN
Abstract
Like the arid regions of the world, southern Algeria has serious problems of siltation resulting from severe weather conditions: sandy surface coverage, high wind velocity, long sunshine, aridity, ... which creates strong impact on socio-economic such as decreased agricultural production, rural exodus, migration ... etc.. In addition to its adverse environmental effects, the permanent presence of large deposits of sand dunes is a serious threat to all infrastructure development of the south country such as roads. Indeed, the dredging of hundreds of kilometres of road assets of South wilayat requires huge financial resources at all times. The aim of this paper is to contribute to understanding the mechanism of siltation and propose solutions struggles may diminish the impact of this phenomenon.
