Abstract

Traganum nudatum is a medicinal plant widely used in folk medicine. In this study, we have undertaken the biological effects of the crude alkaloid content of the plant as far as the antibacterial and antioxidant activities are concerned. The results revealed that the plant involves an important biological effect towards a set of defined bacteria. The different plant parts extracts behave more or less activ. It was found that the extract of the roots in both studies has efficiency better than the extract of the leaves and this in turn is more effective than the extract of the stems.
