Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of readability of the fifth grade science textbook of students in Bethlehem schools, through applying a test contain six questions. The study sample of fifth grade students in Bethlehem schools, (450) males and (416) females, were chosen at random cluster sample. The data was analyzed and found that the readability level of general science book was moderately with a positive relationship between the performance of students in testing Readability and achievement in science and the Arabic language, with a statistically significant differences in the calculation of averages collection of students in testing Readability due to gender and in favour of females, and due to school supervision and in favour of private schools. Due the results it recommended to study other school textbooks.
