Summary, etc. - Bayoud disease or fusariose of date palm (Phoenix dactylifera. L), is caused by the soil fungi Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedinis (Killian and Maire) Gordon (F.o.a.). Fusaric acid (FA) produced by F.o.a. have been proposed to play an important role during the pathogenic process. So, the objective of the present work is to study the effects of culture media, on the mycelial growth, sporulation and fusaric acid production by this pathogen. Four culture media, namely: Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA), Czapeck-Dox Agar (CDA), Czapeck-Glucose Agar (CGA) and Richard’s Agar (RA) were evaluated. The results obtained show that F.o.a. grows better on CGA. Sporulation is more important on PDL medium, and thus, throughout the experimentation (28 days). A Fusaric acid level produced by F.o.a. is substantially identical 10 days after its development in media tested. However at the 20th day of the F.o.a. development, the CGL medium is more favorable to the production of FA, whereas PDL stimulates the production of this toxin from the 30th day.
