Le néo-amazigh et le risque de diglossie Quelles retombées sur la dynamique des langues en Algérie

Résumé

In this article, we will discuss the problem related to this metalanguage called « standard
tamazight » and its repercussions on dynamics of languages in Algeria in general and on
Tamazight status in particular. Then, think to what extent we could consider applying the
terminology record model to the amazigh language. Tamazight, said standard, is conceived as
being a kind of artificial language which carries with it, in the most cases, a strange
metalanguage in the eyes of the amazighs speakers.
The nature of the contents given in the textsbooks intended for teaching seems not only to be
given in a language other than Tamazight but also arranged in various linguistic varations in
which the vocabulary is sometimes lacking because it differs from one region to another. So, we
find ourselves in a real diglossia where the standard tamazight would tend to take place of the
Mother Tongue.
