Pour une possibilité d’un dialogue de cultures et de religions dans Les Échelles du Levant d’Amin Maalouf

Résumé

The novel of war and roaming, love and madness, hatred and tolerance, Les Echelles du Levant
traced the life of Ossaiyan Kibadar, who was a veteran and warrior in the renitency who had
told a stranger (a journalist), that they had meet each other in Paris, the story of his tragic which
was a destiny Between dark and cursed birth, rigidity, unusual marriage, alienation and
flying.Ossaiyan unwittingly found himself a victim of encounters with many irreconcilable
cultures and religions ; who was born within Ottoman princely family, that was an Armenian
mother, as he brought up in Lebanon, who was befriended by a Frenchman, and married to a
Jewish woman from Haifa. All these contradictory elements are the driving force behind the
history of the bright ranks that we will discuss to find out where the possibility of cultural and
religious dialogue lies. According to Amin Maalif, Our study will be based on very conflicting
concepts such as: discourse, identity, culture, otherness and dialogue along with ideas emanating
from. Such kinds of concepts from the human and social sciences to be integrated into the
romantic discourse which is intended to be an interdisciplinary discourse.
