AÏZER un enfant dans la guerre L’effervescence de l’Histoire en littérature
Résumé
Mohamed Sari’s Aïzer a child in the war is announced as an autobiographical tale that tells the
story of a child during the Algerian Liberation War. Through reading the pages, we discover a
story that goes beyond the borders of a life story. The testimonies of inhabitants of the village
of AÏZER, often close to the narrator, become entangled and are told through the voice of this
child “Mohamed”. The autobiographical pact concluded at the beginning of the story is broken
from the fifth page by an admission of the author who explains that his memories merge with
the accounts of his mother, grandmother and aunts. The author, barely four years old on the
day of Algeria’s independence, is unquestionably incapable of accurately resurrecting the events.
The narration passes to another pact, a pact of sincerity perhaps, to convey the word of all his
family (his family and his village) and confer the character of “testimonies” to the story. We are
going to analyze how Mohamed Sari organizes his autobiographical project and what links he
maintains with History.
