Difficulties In Understanding A Text In French As A Foreign Language Class
Résumé
The written comprehension is one of the concerns of language teaching in general
and writing teaching in particular. In a school context, written comprehension represents a
fundamental linguistic competence insofar as it allows the pupil not only to decode the
messages and to gain meaning, but also to prepare him for written production. Written
comprehension requires a whole process and mechanism which results in cognitive strategies
mobilized by the student and pedagogical methods applied by the teacher. In this context,
our present research highlights the various difficulties that paralyze reading comprehension
of FLE text among students in the 4th year of primary school.
