STUDY OF THE NESTING OF Delichon urbicaLINNE 1758 (AVES, HIRUNDINIDAE) IN A SUB URBAIN AREA OF ALGIERS
Abstract
The nesting of the House martin in the breeding site located at the Pins Maritime during the period ranging from 2007 to 2009 is studied. The results showed a clear regression. The number of nest varied between 426 nests in 2007 and 264 nests in 2008. Whereas, in 2009, we counts only 253 nests. According to the exposure of the nests to the cardinal points, the nests located at East side lodge the greatest number of nests in 2007 (31.4 %) and 2008 (32.9 %). On the other hand in 2009 the nests located at Western side are greatest number of nests (30.4 %). This fall from of many nests returns to work of maintains realized by the man within the framework restoration of the buildings supports of the nests of the House martin. Following the complete abolition their nests, these last are in the obligation to build new nests before reproducing.
