PREDICTION EQUATION FOR DETERMINING THE PHYTOMASS OF SPONTANEOUS PERENNIAL PLANTS GRAZED BY THE DROMEDARY IN THE NORTH WESTERN SAHARA OF ALGERIA

Abstract
Spontaneous Algerian Sahara Plants play an important role of feed for domestic and wild animals. This work aims to evaluate the ground phytomass of these plants who have a great interest. From a simple non-destructive method, it provides to users of these resources predicting equations weight based on the recovery, with high precision (R2 > 0,80), for 12 perennial plant species of camel-grazed rangeland in the north western Sahara of Algeria: Antirrhinum ramosissimum, Anvillea radiata, Cymbopogon schoenanthus, Gymnocarpos decander, Launaea arborescens, Limoniastrum feei, Psoralea plicata, Pulicaria crispa, Salsola foetida, Stipagrostis ciliata, Sueada mollis et Zygophyllum gaetulum.
