Diagnostic components of salinity and soil fertility of the palm of the Ksar of Ouargla
Abstract
The date grove located in the region of ksar Ouargla is, since the past, considered as one of the most prosperous oasis groups due to the community practices linked to the traditional system characterizing the ingenuity and the labor efforts mad by the Ouargli farmer. Currently, the accumulation of sands, the rise of salt water tables and the huge loss of soils fertility and the absence of specificity considerations in the agricultural researches are the main grounds of such decline. One supported by the implementation of an action plan for an integrated management of the fertility of its soils has now become more than urgent. The study, which we are proposing, makes an integral part of such movement having as a purpose the examination of the progress of soils fertility within the oasis weak and fragile agro-ecosystem, which is confronted to continuous soil fertility degradation as well as salinity problems due to the new irrational farming practices. This should be done absolutely by an analytical characterization of the soils onthese two components, namely: salinity and fertility by conventional methods commonly used in laboratories chemistry and soil biology. Reading and analysis of these results mark the highlights to developin this article. foliar content on Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus compared to the control and the mineral fertilizer.
