Abstract

Ouargla's oasis knows a big problem of hydric excesses, caused by the discharges of waters of drainage and urban waters which do not undergo any preliminary purge. Our study is a contribution to the evaluation of the impact of these discharges on the quality of the waters of the groundwater through various parameters of the nitrogen pollution. This evaluation went on three sites (Ain Beida, Chott and Oum Reneb). Results obtained during the spatiotemporal follow-up of waste water and those of the groundwater put in evidence an increase of the values of this, concentrations in NH 4+, NO 3- and NO2- during the dry season. The groundwater, seems strongly contaminated with organic matters ofhuman and animal origin, because the report DCO /DBO5 = 2-3 (domestic origin). But the rates of ammoniacal nitrogenand the high nitrates noticed for the points of discharges of Chott and Aïn Beïda indicate a different origin of pollution, namely agricultural activity.
