Abstract
In Algeria, the fox (Vulpes) is still remains a not well known wild species. Moreover, the small leaving in the highland of Tiaret is not mentioned in any report or a published study. This study presents monitored cases of dead fox in the roads and trapped by villagers, in Tiaret’s East area. This small fox seem to be native to this area; however, a considerable risk threatens its existence. When the fox dens were closer to human habitation, it increases trapping risk, foxes are frequently strucked by cars in roads, and stray and roaming dog populations may be the most hazard, and serious limiting factors to this endangered fox expansion. Consequently, serious studies must be conducted to recognition this vulpes species and its conservation.
