Abstract

The present study includes the diagnosis of field operation of a swivel ramp, mechanized spraying system in use and in good working order adopted by the Agricultural Development Corporation (SMVDA) El Khir, delegation of M'Hamdia, Governorate of Ben Arous (northern Tunisia) and to appreciate the quality of the irrigation carried out. This work has affected the evaluation of the rainfall distribution and the coefficient of uniformity, as well as the prior checking of the bus plan which led to the substitution of three nozzles by others provided from other pivots. Finally, to test the uniformity of water distribution, uniformity tests, carried out on the aisle to the point of the pivot, covered a dominant wind speed range of 1 to 8 m / s and A pressure range of 1.5 to 2.5 bar. The operating report found that the swivel ramp system studied was able to ensure a good water distribution even under strong wind (speed exceeding 5 m / s). Likewise, this mechanized system remains functional with a low pressure at the inlet. Surely, the use of such a system is an interesting technological alternative, given also its good efficiency (uniformity coefficient of 84%) at low pressure (1 bar) and strong wind (3-5 m / s).
