Spanish Literature A Literature of Circumstances

Résumé

We live surrounded by a discursive galaxy, and this is not only due to the new
technologies of communication and information; this discursive polyphony already existed in
classical antiquity and the Middle Ages. If the literary text’s specificity is to account for human
relationships with its physical, historical and social environment, then it is more than relevant
that it reflects the multiplicity of discourses and facts in which its author. In this article, we
propose to analyze the historical and social character of Spanish literary productions from the
XVIII century to contemporary times, i.e. their relationship to the world.
