Résumé

The field of politics is undoubtedly the place of predilection for the confrontation of
faces where to gain power the protagonists build images. In certain contexts, such as the revision
of political pacts in a climate of division, the antagonism is always more evident. In this climate
of high tension, any wording takes the path of disqualification of the other and that of selfpositioning.
This is the speech of Alassane Ouattra, president of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire,
also president of the political party RHDP. This study is based on study proposals from the fields
of rhetoric, pragmatics and discourse analysis
