The Min Map at The Service of The Lexical Competence Development of FFL Learners at Secondary Level

Moving from our observation of the difficulties encountering the learning the lexicon
of French as a foreign language (FFL) learner, the objective of this study is to propose the mind
map as one of the strategies with major impact to facilitate the learning of the lexicon, and
consequently to develop the lexical competence of the learner. To do so, we based our analysis
on an empirical study whose corpus is a set of fifty students at the secondary level of the ALIA
Mohammed High School in El-Oued (Algeria). The findings lead to the conclusion that the use
of the mind map, as one of the learning strategies, facilitates the development of a certain
memory skill for the learner which consequently helps him develop his lexical competence.
