Résumé

Here is the account of the experience of a young student of foreign letters trying his
hand at scientific writing. For the sake of scientific rigor, this fascinating experience leads him
to think carefully about the value of each word for which he asks for the complicity. He then
learns the hard way that the text is a lazy system that resists the best wishes. Passionate about
African-American literature, he sets out in search of the truth and comes across the work of
Maya Angelou. Therefore, her idea is simple and fixed: What truth could he learn from the
autobiographical titrology of this militant author on the intercomprehension of men? He thus
discovers that beings, things, facts and events are never what they appear to be. He is faced with
an alternative; to choose between the imposture and the mirror of the title’s attribution.
